I'm Jane Radis, the heart and hands behind Stitchery by the Shore. For 40 years, I've cherished my role as a devoted wife to my college sweetheart, a nurturing mother to four wonderful children, and a proud "Mimi" to five adored grandchildren, with two more on the way this spring. As a retired nurse, I've always been drawn to caring for others, but my true passion lies in creating a warm and inviting home filled with love, beauty, and delicious food.
Here at Stitchery by the Shore, every stitch tells a story of love, creativity, and the simple joys of life. Here, amidst the serene beauty of our lakeside retreat, I've found the inspiration to transform my passion for stitching into a heartfelt endeavor. Surrounded by the tranquility of water, the warmth of our historic home, and the vibrant colors of nature, I pour my heart and soul into each handcrafted design.
With my children grown and an empty nest after 33 years of motherhood, I found myself yearning for purpose and direction. Divine grace led me to discover the joy of stitching—a timeless craft passed down from my talented mother. Venturing beyond my cross-stitch roots, I found liberation in hand embroidery, reveling in the boundless creativity it offered. Inspired by the joy it brought me, I embarked on a journey to share my passion with the world, giving birth to Stitchery by the Shore.
Inspiration struck me several years ago when my daughter gifted me the book "Your Blue Flame" by Jen Fulwiler. In it, Jen's analogy of dogs—each embracing their innate tendencies—resonated deeply with me. Realizing I had been living at a pace incongruent with my "slow-dog soul," I found solace in stitching. Stitching became my sanctuary amidst life's hectic pace, a peaceful haven where I could express my creativity and reconnect with what truly matters.
I believe that every stitch holds a story waiting to be told. Join me on my journey of creativity, connection, and craftsmanship as we celebrate the beauty of hand embroidery. Together, let's craft memories that will last a lifetime, one stitch at a time.
